Food and Beverages

Tavern

Peter Hruska and his team look forward to treating you to some culinary delights. Dishes are cooked in the medieval castle kitchen – preferably with products of regional origin.

From regional to haute cuisine and medieval dishes – enjoy the excellent skills of our chef and the seasonally alternating selection on his menu!

Unfortunately we can only accept cash in the tavern. From 9.00 am we serve from our snack menu, from 11.30 am our whole menu is available.

We would be pleased to stage weddings, company parties or other events for you. Enquiries to: taverne@aggstein.events or Tel.: +43 (0) 2753-8228-5

NEW: Every Wednesday from May–August, you can also dine in the tavern from 6 pm until 9 pm.

Castle café in the shop

In our shop, we offer all hikers who are only visiting Aggstein in passing and are not actually visiting the castle itself snacks, drinks and coffee – a help when you feel a bit hungry!

Opening times: The castle café is open all day during the opening times of the castle ruin!

Wheelchair Accessibility

Parking spaces for people with special needs are available directly in front of the castle. The inner bailey with the chapel and “Frauenturm” (“Lady's Tower”) as well as the viewing points on the wall walk and on the “Bürgl” are only accessible via wooden stairs. That is why people with restricted freedom of movement can only visit certain parts of the castle.

The castle courtyard, the tavern, the well courtyard as well as the Knights' Hall and the toilets are easily accessible with wheelchairs and for people with restricted mobility.

Dogs

Dogs are welcome guests at the castle!

Please keep dogs on a lead!

At the castle box office, you can take free pooper scooper bags with you to clear up your dog's mess. It is also permitted to take dogs with you at our major events, Medieval Festival and arts and crafts market / Christmas market.

Souvenirs

In our shop you will find mementos, souvenirs, books and gifts for the whole family! There is also a castle café with chilled and hot drinks as well as small snacks – especially for hikers who need some light refreshments.

Opening times: The shop and castle café are open all day during the opening times of the castle ruin!
